The Special Games is an exciting time for students and staff alike; the decorated hallways, the costumes, the parade, and especially the games themselves. Everyone looks forward to it every year. Upon interviewing the athletes and Special Services staff about the games we get to learn more about the inner workings of these awesome games.

What activities were there?

Relay, basketball, bowling, can jam, target throw, football toss, and beanbags.

What was your favorite game?

Ryan: 30 second shoot

What was the best part of the day?

Ryan: Team Relay

Besides ours, what was your favorite theme?

Danny: Grease

Ryan: 80s

Did you make any new friends?

Danny: I got to see some old friends.

Do you think it is important that the Special Games continue to be funded?

Mrs. Gorniak: Absolutely, 100%. Everyone looks forward to it. Outside businesses contribute, they know how important it is.

What is one thing you would add or change about the games?

Mrs. Gorniak: I wish time didn’t fly by.

Ryan: Nothing.

What other themes did you guys consider?

Ryan: Greek and Circus

Do students pick the games and theme?

Mrs. Gorniak: They vote in ADPE for the theme and also vote to add on new games.

The Special Games is an incredible time of year for everyone, we can’t wait to see what they come up with for next year!
