Smart is sweeping the school:

Take a crack at the new trivia app!

Rachel Dohm, Staff Writer

The entire high school population has spontaneously gotten smarter over the past week. You would think that’s because of students studying for finals, but that’s not necessarily the case. In reality, it’s the result of the newest trivia app craze. The app description says, “take a crack at outsmarting your friends in this international smash hit.”  This game pits friend against friend in different categories of random trivia: science, entertainment, art, geography, sports, and history. Each category has a corresponding character, and the game is won by being the first to obtain all 6. Take a spin on the wheel to determine in which category you will answer a question. Questions range from facts you would see on your history test, to the hometown of celebrities. Once you earn 3 correct answers, you are given the chance to earn a character. The first player to earn all 6 characters is crowned the winner.  The concept of the game is very similar to that of the Trivial Pursuit board game, and you can expect a similar caliber of questions. The concept of outsmarting your friends and competing to prove your knowledge has become a  new obsession for many Central students. With over 100,000 questions and constant updates, the game never gets old and continues to stump its players. The rise in popularity of this new game, while untimely working your brain, is a welcomed distraction for many who are preparing for finals. Don’t say you weren’t warned… If you haven’t downloaded this game, you may want to wait until December 19th at 11:32am when your 7th hour final is in the books!
