Ava Andronis
I am a junior involved in Student Council, Best Buddies, Newspaper, Welcome Crew, Key Club, and Junior Class Council. My favorite teacher is Mrs. Rauch, and my favorite class is English. I have no pets, but I am one of four siblings! This year, I am most excited for football games because of the thrilling atmosphere. My favorite part of LWC so far has definitely been the people and getting involved. Central has so much to offer, and it truly embodies the saying, “the people make the place.” I am so thankful to have met some of my best friends and the most supportive teachers through this community! I joined Journalism because I wanted to get involved and have a voice for my school. I plan on majoring in Journalism in college to become a broadcaster, and I knew this was a great way to start! I love writing so much and I can’t wait to have a part in so many articles this year!
Addison Prieto
I am a senior on the varsity cheerleading team. I am also involved in student council, link crew, welcome crew and environmental action club. I love science! My favorite classes have been Honors Chemistry with Mrs. Sieber and Anatomy and Physiology with Mrs. Malito. I also have one dog named Lilo and my best friend is Lara Yutesler. I plan on studying Biology/Chemistry in college and want to have a career in the medical field. I am mostly looking forward to cheering at football games and competing with my team this school year. My favorite part of LWC is definitely the culture, and I always feel proud to be a Knight!
Kai Hough
I am a senior involved in NHS, Spanish Honor Society, Illinois Music Honor Society, and Science National Honor Society. My favorite class is AP Psychology. I have around 25 pets, including cats, snakes, a dog, guinea pigs, and geckos. I want to study Spanish and Biology—specifically conservation/the environment. For my future, I am really looking forward to visiting colleges and figuring out what I want to do.
Madison Conaghan
I am a senior on the Lincoln-Way Central girls varsity basketball team. My favorite teacher is Mrs. Vaculik and my favorite class is Anatomy. I have three dogs and their names are Rose, Toula, and Hope. I joined Journalism because I wanted to be able to contribute to the school’s news and educate my peers through my personal writing. This year, I am looking forward to the activities and memories the most! In my future, I hope to study Pediatric Nursing with a minor in Spanish.
Sydney Zale
I am a senior involved in link crew and an NHS officer. After graduation, I plan to become a dentist. This school year I am most looking forward to prom! Mrs. Vaculik is my favorite teacher, and she is the reason I joined Journalism. Having her as my teacher has been my favorite part of LWC! I have the cutest dog named Zoey and my best friend is Charli Baranak.
Lara Yutesler
I am a senior on the Lincoln-Way Central girls varsity swim and water polo team. I am also involved in Welcome Crew, Senior Council, Environmental Action Club, and I play the cello in Orchestra. I also have a blue quaker parrot named Rico! In college, I plan to major in Strategic Communication/Public Relations, minor in Journalism, and potentially study pre-law as well. In my future, I hope to be doing what I love, which is talking to people and working “behind the scenes” on big projects. I also hope to travel the world and explore Europe! My favorite classes have been AP Psychology with Mrs. Pehle and AP Government with Mr. Finnegan because the LWC Social Science Department is truly wonderful. This year I am excited to soak up all my “lasts” as a Knight such as the dances, athletic competitions, and football games. My favorite part of LWC is being a part of the student body’s togetherness and having the opportunity to express myself/meet my best friends through extracurriculars.
Matylda Moustis
I am a senior on the varsity Rhythm Knights team. I am also involved in Key Club and Environmental Action Club. After graduation, I plan to attend a four-year college and major in Finance. For my senior year, I am looking forward to Homecoming week! Math has always been my favorite subject. I also have the cutest cat.
Sophia Valentini
I am a junior involved in Student Council, Key Club, Noble Knights, and Best Buddies. I am also a part of Interact Club and enjoy volunteering in our community. This school year I am most excited for Homecoming and all of the fun activities in the week leading up to it. My favorite subject is History.
Angelina Platos
I am a senior involved in Link Crew, Welcome Crew, Knightmares, International Club, NHS and more! I am also a member of the girls’ varsity Swimming and Water Polo teams. After high school, I want to continue to play water polo in college, and I plan on majoring in Speech Pathology or Physical Therapy. This year I am looking forward to all of the senior events and spending time with my friends. My favorite class is Anatomy because I get to learn a lot. I have one dog named Odin. I also speak Polish, and I’ve been working on my Spanish. I decided to join Journalism because I loved writing my sophomore year in Mrs. Vaculik’s class. My favorite part of LWC is the ability to make so many relationships with many people. And most importantly, the unforgettable friendships I’ve made from the LWC swimming and water polo programs!
Hannah Quigley
I am a senior on the girls’ varsity swimming and water polo teams. I also volunteer in the bookstore, and I’m involved in Welcome Crew and Senior Class Council. After high school, I plan to go to college and potentially major in Architecture. I’m looking forward to Homecoming this year and my favorite teachers are Mrs. Hobbs and Mr. Holder. The reason I joined Journalism is because I loved class with Mrs. Vaculik, and I wanted to get involved. I am excited to write about things that interest me and other news happening around the school. My favorite part about LWC has been the amazing memories I’ve made with friends, especially the amazing moments I have shared with my teammates!
Deanna Jaremowicz
I am a freshman, and I am apart of the marching band. This school year, I am mostly looking forward to learning new and interesting concepts in my classes, specifically English, which is my favorite subject. I also have two dogs, and a fun fact about me is that I know more than a hundred digits of pi! I joined Journalism because I’ve always loved the idea of sharing my thoughts with other people. My favorite part of LWC is its friendly and welcoming atmosphere.
Margarite Malone
I am a sophomore, and I am involved in environmental action club, best buddies, animal volunteer club, and I will soon be on the drill team for ROTC! My favorite teacher is M.Sgt. Schliffka, and I’m looking forward to ROTC this school year. I do not currently have any pets, but when I was young, I had a dog and a cat.
