Homecoming is the night of all (K)nights. It is a cherished tradition and everybody’s favorite time of year at Lincoln-Way Central. The amount of school pride throughout the week is astonishing. This is the perfect way to kick off the new school year! The week leading up to the dance is filled with games, spirit days, football games, pep rallies, and HOCO Olympics.
Lincoln Way Central freshman Owen Baranak claims, “I was beyond amazed with the incredible amounts of school spirit and Knight pride throughout the week. This was the most amazing night of my life, and I loved the food trucks.” Saturday night was the Homecoming dance and Student Council and staff members out-did themselves with the beautiful decorations, creating an atmosphere similar to the movie Tangled.
This year, outside of the fieldhouse there were food trucks and a nicely set up area with tents for mingling. The vibes at the dance were so positive and fun! Junior AJ Lambert says, “I really enjoyed dancing with all my friends and seeing everyone all dressed up! I would say this year was the best yet, and I cannot wait to see what next year brings.” The DJ was also amazing and kept everybody hyped the entire night. The anticipation and preparation for this night is also what makes HOCO week so great. Overall, this past week will be one everyone remembers and will cherish forever.
