Prom and Social are markers for the end of the year for juniors and seniors. These activities are something that many have looked forward to since the beginning of the year, or even their high school careers. This year, the theme for prom was “A Knight at Gatsby’s.” Many interpreted the theme in creative ways, incorporating black, silver, and gold into their prom look. The venue, Dinolfos, was also able to decorate uniquely for the Gatsby theme. Prom is an important way to connect upperclassmen together as well as providing a bittersweet farewell for seniors.
Social, another great event to close off the year, also allowed for students to express themselves through their costumes. The more casual of the two events encourages students attendees to dress in costume. These costumes help bring different friend groups together and allow groups to show off their creativity to others. At Social, many feel comfortable to get out of their comfort zones and have fun with a variety of different students. With the assortment of games and activities, Social is a very fulfilling way to end the school year.
Overall, Prom and Social helped juniors and seniors have a positive end of the year together. They celebrated as a group through fun games and activities at the social and through dancing and singing at prom. Both of these events bring students together and allow them to socialize and spend time together as a final goodbye.
