Summer Playlist

As self-proclaimed music enthusiasts, we’ve decided to rank our top 5 summer songs in anticipation of the break from school. We’ve listed and recommended five amazing songs to add to your playlist.

  1. Take it Easy by The Eagles

This exceptional mix really gets me in the mood for the summer. I would recommend for anyone looking for a great piece of music to play in the background while playing outside.

  1.  “Could you be Loved” by “big” Bob Marley

This iconic song has an enormous reputation in retail stores across the nation. Although the song can be annoying at times, it is still an all-time classic.

  1.  “Southern nights” by Glen Campbell

This iconic song is part of the southern-rock album of the movie Guardians of the Galaxy Vol.2 and is arguably the best part. If you’ve never heard this song, add it to your playlist now. You won’t regret it.

  1. “In the Summertime” by Mungo Jerry

This instant classic was reborn in the monumental film Despicable me 2. This is a great song to play with your buddies when “hangin’ in the pool”.

  1. “Summer Belongs to You” from Phineas and Ferb

This is a classic summer song that plays in everyone’s heads when they think about summer break. Every summer playlist should have this song in it as it brings out the fun times that were had as kids. It is a memorable song and everyone knows where it is from when they hear it.

We interviewed Lincoln Way Central athlete, Ben Rafferty, and asked him to give his opinion on our list. He said “I would agree with most of these, especially number 1. I am a huge fan of Phineas and Ferb”.
