The LWMB in Times Square!

The Lincoln-Way marching band traveled to New York over Thanksgiving break to participate in the Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade. They spent an entire week there, exploring the streets of the Big Apple

One of the most-visited spots while being in New York City is Central Park. These photos are one of the five groups that got a personal tour of this beautiful park. They were able to learn historical facts and all of the stories that fed into the making of New York City. This picture (above) was Group 3 standing on top of one of the few big rocks in the park having the time of their lives. This was their chaperone’s idea to make a group photo on the stairs, making sure no band kid was lost somewhere in the park. Even though it was freezing with the wind chill, the musicians made the most of it.

After a night out, the entire marching band went to Times Square to get a group photo. The band had a hard time cooperating, which made things difficult after already suffering in the cold. One of the busiest places in NY turned into a place of chaos and fun for the band kids. They got to enjoy all the lights and feel the life of New York City with such a big group.

To sum up the trip, directors gave one last farewell to the 63 seniors that dedicated most of their high school career to the LWMB. The directors (left) shared some personal stories to the band and how much the LWMB organization has impacted communities beyond their own. This celebratory moment brought tears to everyone including the staff. Never have we been so proud of a group of musicians and love them so dearly as the class of 2022.
