Boys soccer season
The boy’s varsity soccer team’s season is in full swing at this point in the year, so I’ve decided to see how things are going for those that haven’t been able to support their team by coming to a game. Junior varsity player Dylan Leonard has agreed to answer some questions and fill us in with the team’s progress.
So, Dylan, how is the soccer season so far?
Dylan: We started off strong, but we had a few tough games along the way.
What were your expectations for this season?
Dylan: We began with high expectations leading off from summer camp. So far we have been performing close to those expectations.
Dylan how long have you been a part of the varsity soccer team?
Dylan: Two years.
What is it like to watch the team grow over the years?
Dylan: It has been difficult losing players and close friends, but also exciting to see the new talent arrive year after year.
Recently you player Lincoln-Way West on their senior night, how did the game go?
: The first half we gave up three goals, but scored late in the first half to make the score 3-1 by halftime. Going in to the second half we brought a lot of energy and ended up tying the game to bring it to overtime. In overtime we had plenty of opportunities to take the lead, but failed to capitalize. Finally we went into PK shootout, and unfortunately loss 3-2 in the PKs.
