The Darkest Minds by Alexandra Bracken
In this trilogy, children are dying by the thousands because of a sickness. Yet, people are more afraid of the kids that still live. These kids who survive are left with special abilities. Ruby is one of the ones who live and, as a result, is sent to a camp which is basically a work camp. Ruby is hiding a secret and needs to escape because of it. But, the outside world is dangerous. Ruby has to decide if she can truly trust anyone and also learn to control her abilities.
Honestly, this was a fantastic novel if you enjoy action. There are plenty of car chases and wanderings. Ruby has a dangerous ability which haunts her because of its effects. It is very interesting to see who is trustworthy and to discover the organization’s true intentions. It is definitely entertaining with its fantastic writing style.
We Were Liars by E. Lockhart
This is a novel about a “perfect” family. The family meets every summer at their family island. This novel is narrated by Cadence, who oddly does not remember a lot of the past summer.
I don’t want to mention a lot about what this book is about because, honestly, it is best to go into it with as little knowledge as possible. As you read this story is very interesting in the way it is written. The author weaves little fairytale stories into it which adds to the elements of the story. If you decide to pick this book up and think that it is not as interesting as all the hype claims, then you need the keep going! I repeat, keep reading! I promise that the end of the story is well worth the wait. It is hauntingly beautiful and will definitely stay with you.
Fangirl by Rainbow Rowell
Fangirl is a novel about a girl named Cath who is starting her freshman year at college. Cath is not very socially outgoing like her twin sister, Wren. This story is about college experiences and dealing with family issues.
This is an entertaining novel if you enjoy books and movies because it makes a lot of humorous references to pop culture. Also, it gives a sense to what a real college experience could be like. Cath is a very shy character which can be really relatable character especially when starting a new experience like college. I would recommend this book if you are looking for a cute story.
Miss Peregrine’s Home for Peculiar Children by Ransom Riggs
As a child, Jacob grew up with is grandfather telling him stories of his past where he lived in Miss Peregrine’s orphanage with children who had peculiar abilities (basically kids in freak shows). After a tragic family death, Jacob is sent on a mission to find the orphanage. But, as impossible as it seems, the kids may still be alive.
So, from the description of the book you might think that it sounds like a really creepy, scary book. But, I promise you this book is not very scary. After all you can’t judge a book by its cover. It is more of a mystery and adventure book. Honestly, I love this book. If you’re a fan of history you might gain a new perspective on the 1940s. Even if you don’t like history, chances are you will still love this book. There is something for everyone in this novel. The characters are each unique in their own way and they make the story enjoyable to read. One of the best features of this book is the vintage pictures of which the story is based. The pictures make the story feel like it is more than just fiction. Also, on September 30th, 2016 the movie adaptation will be released.

This book trilogy is perfect if you are a fan of the show The Bachelor. It is full of drama and funny moments. There are sweet characters and of course the characters who try to sabotage everyone else. This book is perfect if you’re looking for a quick read. Warning: It is highly addictive.
