The Second Presidential took place on Sunday, October 9th, 2016 at Washington University in St. Louis, Missouri. What set it apart from the first debate was the town hall format, where moderators Martha Raddatz and Anderson Cooper asked questions from non-committed voters in St. Louis, pre-approved that day.

What also set this apart from the first debate were the topics brought up in the debate. This election has been swarmed with numerous scandals, and this debate initiated with a question asking if the candidates were modeling appropriate behaviors for today’s youth. The Democratic nominee, Hillary Clinton, focused on the importance of celebrating diversity, setting goals for better education, and overall coming together to unite our nation. The Republican nominee, Donald Trump, focused on bringing back law and order, respect between the police and citizens within the inner cities, and the tremendous potential America has.

Another important question of the night was about Syria, and what each nominee would do as President about the humanitarian crisis in Aleppo. Clinton advocated safe zones, and elaborated on the idea of working with allies on the ground, negotiating with Russia, and holding Syria and Russia responsible for war crimes. Trump publicly disagreed with his running mate, Mike Pence, due to his views on Syria expressed during the Vice Presidential Debate. Trump strongly expressed that ISIS must be defeated, how Aleppo has already fallen, and advocated secret attacks by the US on ISIS and Syria.

The debate covered some heavy and important topics facing America today, but it ended on a lighter note with a question asking the candidates to name one positive thing that they respected in one another. Clinton commented on Trump’s children, and how she respected their devotion to him and his campaign. Trump pointed out Clinton’s strong will and determination, and how she never quits or gives up. Unlike the beginning, the debate ended with a handshake, reminding the viewers and voters of America that no matter what someone’s political views are, others should still respect them and their views.

The third and final Presidential Debate took place at the University of Nevada, Las Vegas on Wednesday, October 19th, 2016 at 8:00pm CT. The moderator was Chris Wallace from FOX News, and this debate returned to the same format as the First Presidential Debate.
