The Cache Creek Animal Shelter of New Lenox is always open to volunteers willing to help out at the shelter.

For any students looking to gain community service hours to meet the required 20 hours for graduation, Cache Creek is a good place to seek opportunities, especially if you like working with animals.  The Cache Creek Animal Shelter is open every day of the week from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. Sunday and 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. Monday through Saturday.  No experience is necessary to volunteer, and sign-up is simple; potential volunteers just have to sign a waiver to become an official volunteer.

Cache Creek offers a variety of jobs for volunteers.  Available jobs include: walking the dogs, feeding the cats, sweeping the floors of the cat rooms, and scooping the litter boxes.  Volunteers can stay and help out as long as they want.  The staff at the shelter can answer any questions regarding what other jobs are available.

Another great perk about Cache Creek is that there are a ton of interesting animals full of personality awaiting your love and care.  Especially for animal lovers, Cache Creek can provide some quite memorable experiences.
