It don’t mean a thing…

…if it ain’t got that swing (Knight)

Back in full swing, the annual Lincoln-Way Central event Swing Knight is back and ready to blow you away with classic jazz! It is a large fundraiser for the music programs and is the highlight of the jazz season. This event is a formal gala-type evening which includes fine dining, raffles, silent auctions, and a night of jazz performances by the jazz ensembles at LWC.

Swing Knight 2017 took place on March 17th at the beautiful Odyssey Country Club from 5:30pm to 10:30pm. Classic swing selections from artists like Frank Sinatra, Etta James, and Count Basie were played, along with a selection of funk tunes to get your groove on. Some of the songs that were played by the jazz ensembles were “Sing Sing Sing,” “The Way You Look Tonight,” “Pick Up the Pieces,” “Stormy Weather,” and “Moon Dance.”

The students practiced diligently for this very event, and it was a fantastic time for anyone who enjoys jazz music and dancing. If ya’ like jazz, consider supporting Lincoln-Way Central’s own jazz ensembles at a night like this!
